A bright future for Joe Allen if talk on Merseyside is be believed as the London Olympic football star is one step closer to becoming a Liverpool player, a deal could be finalised as early as next week.
The papers are all in agreement that Swansea’s Joe Allen is all set for a record-breaking £15m transfer to Liverpool, rumours have been solidified after Joe Allen attended last night’s Europa League friendly, which Liverpool won with ease.
Former Swans boss Brendan Rodgers has made it clear he values Allen as one of the top breakthrough midfielders in the Premiership, praising his international performances in the Olympic Games alongside fellow Welshman Aaron Ramsey and Man United midfielder Tom Cleverly.
Insiders say the two clubs are still far from reaching an agreement but it is believed Liverpool will put in a bid of around £15m, making Allen the most expensive Welshman in football history above current Kop star Craig Bellamy, who went from West Ham to Manchester City in 2009 for £14m.
Neww Swansea manager Michael Laudrup is reluctant to let home-grown talent leave the club he has only just recently inherited but is under pressure from the board to sell in order to remain financially stable.
Swansea now have to prepare for life without Allen who is keen to rekindle his relationship with former boos Rodgers, and recent scouting activity suggest they will push for a move for Bolton’s Mark Davies to the tune of £4m.
Laudrup will also look to consolidate new deals for last year’s top performers Scott Sinclair and Ashley Williams to avoid the possibility of losing them too to bigger Premier League clubs, Sinclair is entering into the final year of his current terms and wanting a boost in wages.

I have been absent for a while, but now I remember why I used to love this site. Thank you, I
Get him in and ship out Caroll, need to rebuild for European football, take Sahin as well, he is a great player.
£15m is a bit much, Ilike Allen but there’s other options. Shouldn’t just buy him because he’s a favourite of Rodgers.
Looking forward to seeing Allen at Anfield this season, he’s underrated, will slot in well with Gerrard and Lucas.
