The coveted trophy of the Ryder Cup 2012 has been secured by Europe, making a stunning comeback, which was the greatest of the Ryder Cup’s history. Europe handed defeat to the USA at the Medinah country club in Chicago to win the golf’s blue riband tournament.

USA entered the ultimate day of this tournament with a lofty 10-6 lead. But, on Sunday night, Jose Maria Olazabal’s squad was rejoicing as it had battled its way to an unthinkable 14 1/2 to 13 1/2 triumph in Chicago.

Germany’s Martin Kaymer delivered a 5ft putt on the 18th hole to make certain that the desired trophy would be journeying across the Atlantic.

Englishman Ian Poulter triumphed in all his four games to achieve 12 points from a probable 15 in his cup career. He voiced that the Europeans didn’t abandon hope as they deemed that they had a thin chance. He expressed his ecstasy as the 12-man Team Europe had perpetrated history by reclaiming the Ryder Cup.

Seve Ballesteros, the respected Late Spanish golfer, who performed creditable service to revivify the Ryder Cup competition, was remembered emotionally and fondly at the concluding ceremony after the tournament. Team Europe’s Captain, Jose Maria Olazabal, who was an intimate chum of Seve, uttered during the delirious celebrations that Seve would never be forgotten. Team Europe deemed during their meetings that self-belief was paramount to attaining success.

Olazabal mentioned that Europe’s win has enlivened him. He was proud of his team for their ceaseless perseverance, which led to their conquest of the Ryder Cup from a seemingly dire position. For him, it was a privilege to function as the Team’s Captain.

Meanwhile, Rory McIlroy and his teammates partied enthusiastically after the unimaginable victory, with champagne flowing late into the night.
