Stuart Hall, the BBC broadcaster, finds himself embroiled in sex abuse charges as the Lancashire police have charged the 82-year-old senior broadcaster with three counts of indecent assault against young girls aged between 8 and 17.
The Stuart Hall sex abuse charges are related to alleged incidents of sexual mistreatment committed by the Radio 5 Live football presenter. The incidents date back to the 1970s and 1980s, with the sex abuse charges being levelled against a man, who has worked for more than 50 years in British broadcasting.
John Dilworth, associated with the Crown Prosecution Service, has asserted that Stuart Hall has been bailed to emerge at Preston Magistrates’ Court on January 7, 2013.
As per Dilworth, the decision to launch sex abuse charges against Stuart Hall is in accordance with the Code for Crown Prosecutors. John Dilworth has voiced that adequate evidence exists for a realistic possibility of the conviction of Stuart Hall. The public interest will be met by prosecuting the Stuart Hall sex abuse case.
Stuart Hall was arrested at his residence in Wilmslow, Cheshire, on Wednesday morning and taken to a police station for interrogation. The BBC has issued a statement that Stuart Hall wouldn’t be working for the BBC as long as the police persist with their investigations into the Stuart Hall sex abuse case.
Stuart Hall was honoured with an OBE in this year’s New Years Honours. He had also hosted the It’s A Knockout show in the 1970s.
The Stuart Hall sex abuse case has been publicised after a host of sex abuse cases have come to light this year against other prominent celebrities such as Andrew Lancel, Late Cyril Smith and Late Jimmy Savile.
A Lancashire Police spokesman has remarked that the sex abuse case against Stuart Hall is being treated seriously by the force and no more comments will be issued by them regarding this matter.
