Discussing the Jimmy Savile scandal on his blog, Paul Daniels, the host of BBC’s television series ‘The Paul Daniels Magic Show’, has admitted to have kissed a schoolgirl when he was 30, after giving her lift in his car late night in 1970s. Claiming to have slept with over 300 women on his blog ‘The Life and Times of Paul Daniels’, the 74-year-old illusionist is doubtful whether all of his fancies were above 16.

Talking about Jimmy Savile’s scandal, which recently led to a few heads rolling in the BBC, Paul Daniels said on his blog, “I’ve been wondering if all Savile’s accusers are for real? Did I have such a life? Yes, I would be lying if I said I didn’t. Were they all over 16? OMG. I hope so. Can I remember them? No. Life back then was a blur. And therein lies a major problem with what is going on now. It was 35/40 years ago. Anyone can come along and claim to be abused by anyone.”

Describing the event when he gave lift to a mini-skirted schoolgirl which eventually led him to kiss her, Paul Daniels said that he gave her lift lat one night and drove on as the girl moaned about her boyfriend ignoring her and she’d wanted to get even with him. Paul Daniels wrote his thoughts at the moment, “Oh goodie for me, I thought.” But after the kiss, the girl told him that she was in school. Paul Daniels claims that he immediately had her out of his car and drove away feeling sick.

In his blog, Paul Daniels also described life of a celebrity in the 1970s, as a glamorous one and surrounded by female attention and that “sex was out there and laid on the line.”

Paul Daniels described Jimmy Savile as “a bad guy undoubtedly”, but expressed his doubt on the credibility of all the accused. “I can fully understand some women not wanting to talk about what happened to them, but for over 400 of them to keep quiet for 40 years seems strange.”
