A spectacular dancing extravaganza awaits at the grand opening ceremony of the greatest show on earth. Thousands of enthusiasts have flocked to London to witness the beginning of the greatest sporting extravaganza.
A global audience of four billion will watch the show tonight on television. The eagerly anticipated opening ceremony will begin tonight at the Olympic Stadium in Stratford. The A-list will include the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince Harry, the Duke of Edinburgh, the Prince of Wales, the Duchess of Cornwall, the United States First Lady Michelle Obama, international stars along with 120 world leaders will be present for the opening ceremony.
The most fiercely guarded secret is the person who will light the Olympic stadium flame or the cauldron. David Beckham, one of the world’s greatest English footballer, refused the prestigious honour earlier this month after his exclusion from the Team GB. Other high profile Olympians including Sir Steve Redgrave, Daley Thompson, Dame Kelly Holmes and Sir Roger Bannister are still on the list of possible Olympians to light the cauldron.
