The body of a young baby boy was discovered at a recycling plant in North Lincolnshire at around 9.30 am on Wednesday; the police call for information about the baby’s parents.
Humberside Police were called by a male worker at the Bell Waste Control site on Winterton Road, Scunthorpe, after he found the body of boy, believed to be less than six months old, in items being sorted for recycling. For the further inquiry, police has cordoned off the scene and are refusing to comment anything, saying the investigation is in its very early stages.
“At this time, very little is known in terms of the circumstances which led to the baby seemingly being discarded but we are concerned that the baby’s parents, in particular his mother, may need help and support following the loss of her child and as such she may be very vulnerable at this time. We are urging anyone who can help identify the parents of this baby or the parents themselves to come forward in order for us to make sure they get any support or medical treatment that may be required”, said Humberside Police in a statement.
Nessa Thompson, managing director of Thompson Recycling Group, on Winterton Road, expressed concern saying, ”For the people who found it, it is terrible. We are very close knit and we heard what had happened through the drivers. It is absolutely appalling. I cannot think of anything worse.”
Humberside Police has urged anyone with information relating to the incident to contact them on 101 quoting log 152 of 02/05/12. Alternatively, you can also call Crimestoppers on 0800-555-111 to provide information anonymously.
Other responsibilities of a funeral director can include asking the family about their wishes of how they want their loved one to be buried and the arrangements of the funeral ceremony, in addition to establishing the time and location of the burial and memorial services.
