As today marks the last day in the Mayan Calendar, the entire UK has come together in a celebratory mode to go out with a bang in an End of the World Party at various destinations scheduled tomorrow.
On December 21, 2012, the Mayan Calender resets to zero, and to usher in a new beginning east London’s crowd can flock to Village Underground, where party begins at 10pm but entry is allowed up to 12am. The dress code says “wear whatever makes you happy”. Advance tickets for the End of The World Party have been sold out, the site says.
The Pirate Radio Boat brings to London a night of celebrations of the cycles of life on the tides of the Thames. People who want to make it to the boat are atrictly advised to arrive at 8pm for boarding and the boat is said to depart from the tower pier at 9pm sharp!
The Pirate Radio Boat will house music bands such as Mums Old Vinyl, DJ Kobayashi, DJ Oshj on the spinning deck, while on the deck of chill the boat will see the likes of The Turbans, My Bad Sister, Metro Paradiso, TigerMonkey, Creecha, Dan Korn and the Choppy Waters, The Skulk, and Barking Bateria. Kent will also host End of The World party on the network of Napoleonic tunnels on Friday. Rinse FM DJs Redlight, Roska, Foamo and many more would be present to have the best time on the last night on earth.
In Bristol, The Lanes, which has five bowling lanes, is organising The End of The World party, which will see the likes of Dub Pistols, DR Meaker and more on the decks. It has a private karaoke room and a pool table, if you get tired of dancing on the last day of Mayan 2012.
