The accident was not serious and did not injure anyone

Katie Holmes and her six-year-old daughter Suri, whose custody is the chief issue in Holmes’ divorce battle with Tom Cruise, met a minor accident yesterday, as their chauffeur-driven Mercedes Benz was struck by a dumptruck.

Katie and Suri were seen leaving Manhattan’s Chelsea Piers, where Suri takes gymnastics classes, before the incident occurred. With Katie Holmes and Suri, their driver was inside the Benz, the police source informed.

The luxury sedan, with the high profile duo inside, was struck on the rear driver’s side by a dumptruck from Classic Sanitation Recycling New York Corp. X17Online.com said, “The truck appeared to have backed into the sedan, and police were called to the scene to take an incident report, but no injuries were reported.”

The site informed, Katie’s security team and bodyguards immediately took the mother and the daughter away from the situation to their New York residence. Conflicting reports have questioned whether or not Katie Holmes and her child were really there as they were never seen on the spot of the accident. However the police source confirmed, “It was nothing major other than the fact that it was Katie Holmes.”

Father Tom, who had been busy shooting on his sci-fi flick Oblivion, finished work on Saturday, and left Mammoth Lakes, Calif. on Sunday, according to E! Online. Cruise’s lawyer Bert Fields told RadarOnline, “Tom will be seeing Suri very soon. I don’t know exactly when that will be, and I couldn’t tell you, but I do know it will be very soon.”
